Apa khabar! My name is Wong Ho Yan and I’m from Malaysia. I’m interested in creating space which responds to human activity.
The project “Craft Fill in the Space Project” is an adaptive-reuse project which transform two abandoned shop-houses into a community craft-hub.
This project aims to revive handcrafts within the local community especially the younger generation.
The project can be seen as a long term project and provides an initial framework for the community.
The proposal would provide a base for local makers and artists as well as offering workshops to the public thus encouraging engagement and fostering collaborative opportunities.
This project intends to give people a sense of belonging by creating craftworks together such as traditional rattan goods, traditional lantern, Chinese calligraphy…
Everyone can PARTICIPATE and in doing so produce craftworks which are displayed and included in a world of craft.
