Biography

My name is Raheem Gilligan and my goal is to tell stories. Design in many ways is like a script, starting at its conception and evolving before its conclusion. This is what drew me to the creative field – as architecture, digital media and creative writing have all allowed me to implement this ideology. Being someone of mixed heritage, and coming from such a multicultural city, I’ve been able to absorb and relate to many cultures. Different ways of designing and more importantly different ways of telling those stories. My thesis ‘ALLEGORY’ uses Plato’s Allegory of the Cave to decipher negative controlling imagery in film to tell a story of architectural misrepresentation.
