As part of the final project, my challenge was to identify the voids and gaps within our communities – this led to the rather controversial discussion of the education gap. Although the UK is known for its outstanding education system, it isn’t necessarily equal. Children as young as 10/11 are being pressured into taking entrance examinations which determine their next 5 years of secondary school education. Some students are judged and given school places based upon their catchment areas, whereas those fortunate enough can experience private education with outstanding teachers and facilities.
My final project “Education: Upgraded.” aims to bring about a new means of educating through a technologically advanced method of neural data transfer to eliminate any discriminating factors and provide every child with an equal opportunity and education, while resolving this through a rigid architectural system.
