Hello! My name is Ellie. I am a designer with a keen interest within the experiential design industry.
Combining my passions of media and interiors, in each project, I focus on telling a story through the design which drives the narrative of the project and keeps human centric design at its core.
For my Final Major Project ‘The Experience Centre’, the focus has been on offering experiences that people have missed out on due to Covid-19 and tending to the ‘experience economy’ who value experience over materialistic items, coming out of the pandemic.
The site ‘The Retort House’, located in Digbeth, has been transformed into cultural centre which prioritises human connection and escapism in the form of exhibitions, workshops, and community based activities.
Offering a space where people can come together and reconnect in an area that is growing in opportunities and experiences, was an important aspect of the project. It is a space that is away from the busy highstreet and is instead within a diverse and growing community.
