Hello, my name is Emily and I am a recent Interior Architecture and Design graduate. I enjoy creating bespoke furniture designs, detailing and creative problem solving. I am experienced with Photoshop, AutoCAD, Indesign and SketchUp. These softwares aid me in performing these tasks. Throughout my degree, I’ve learnt many different skills in order to communicate my design. My passion lies in residential design and how different spaces can affect users in different ways. The impact of space on the individual physically and emotionally drives my design. Throughout my studies, I gained a deeper understanding of how the structure and materiality of space work together and how we as designers can use these decisions to influence the way in which a user experiences a space.
My final project “Out of the Box” was created to highlight a current issue within the education system – The lack of creative opportunities and creatives being pushed aside due to the introduction of the Ebacc. This is a design hub for teenagers to engage with graphic design. The intent of the design challenges the user’s creative skills whilst benefitting their mental well-being with the introduction of nature. The interactive spaces promote a new initiative
