The New 'Local' - An isometric of the (W)hole. Moxley's new public house that sits metaphorically and physically at the heart of the community.
Modern Moxley - Modern Moxley has lost its identity, there is a need for reflective and honest architecture to form a new identity.
The Process - As the processes behind architecture are exposed the site evolves over time, making the incorporeal visable.
Ground Floor Plan - As the retaining walls rise from the pit, they continue through the architecture shaping the internal arrangements.
Community Facade - Through the study of a façade tile, the story behind architecture can be displayed, shared and embraced.
Site Section - The landscaped auditorium in the pit integrates itself within the architecture through materiality, orientation and purpose within the community.
North Perspective - The north façade is positioned towards the community of Moxley and acts as the face of the people's pub.
Pit Perspective - The community pit, formed by the extraction of materials, allows people to interact with the geology, architecture and construction process.
The Public's House - The Public's House embodies the geological heritage of the Black Country and gives the residents of Moxley a social hub.
