Hi, I am a landscape architecture student graduating from Birmingham City University, with passion and creativity. This is my final year project. Mark Granovetter (1973) pointed that weak tie is an important resource in making possible mobility opportunity. Seen from a more macroscopic vantage, weak ties play a role in affecting social cohesion. As high-rise buildings are erected, people are less connected with each other. Redesigning the disused railway into community area in the center of the city, I divided the linear site into four different themes, each part in a different color, but each connected by iconic curved sculptures, this will stimulate curiosity to explore the site and allow the surrounding population to create weak ties with others through the urban linear park. I believe that I can make our cities more vibrant and colorful.
