Athia Imran Artist Statement

This project aims to combine the elements of South Asian and Middle Eastern contemporary bridal photography in marketing and advertising, with the Western world. It intends to show the personal significance behind Athia’s religious and cultural traditions, which are brought to Western culture, thus allowing viewers to psychologically engage with the portfolio that has been presented. As a result, this emphasises Athia’s ethnic heritage which brings a unique perspective to her work in the West.
