I am a midlands based artist and my practice centres around the notion of unlearning; drawing from learning strategies employed within UK creative art education (from primary to higher level), in exploring what it means to undo or challenge prior learned knowledge. Through the use of collage materials, I attempt to consciously unlearn by performing various processes which often contradict or work against the familiar principles of learning in order to then re-learn through materials, spaces and intuitive actions. This act of making becoming an integral way to understand the possibilities of unconventional spaces within the studio and domestic environment, framed as sites of learning.
