My early years were dedicated to my passion for sporting challenges and included representing England. Sport honed determination and hand-eye co-ordination. With a Sports Science BSc, I enjoyed a role as sports coach.
My path to fine jewellery started as a hobby from school Technology studies. I loved hand and machine work with wood, metal and other materials. This grew into a small business producing bespoke parts.
In 2018, I made my first jewellery and was accepted on the BCU HND Jewellery and Silversmithing course. I design with CAD, use a range of materials and make with hand tools supplemented by casting, CNC machining and laser welding.
My first term project, ‘An Engineer’s Breakfast Set’, won a Goldsmiths Silver Award in 2020.
My design inspiration comes from architecture and engineering structures, I am fascinated by movement, materials and beauty of stones. My Spider Pendant, (Goldsmiths Gold and two Bronze awards) was inspired by a Swiss Blue Topaz and a challenging design to maximise light reaching the stone.
I welcome the challenge of commissions, designing pieces that will be meaningful and cherished by their owners. A wedding collection for a theatre couple involving movement and colour won a Goldsmiths Bronze award.
