Oraweewan Khonggra is a graduate from Birmingham City Univeristy, specialising in print and surface pattern.
“As a multidisciplinary artist, I have the freedom to experiment with different combinations of traditional and digital mediums.
My work is often inspired by nature, abstract lines, shapes, brushstrokes, and the mixing and layering of colours. I enjoy exploring themes of contrast, repetition, and illusions in my projects. Whether it’s a painting, digital illustration, or mixed media piece, I aspire to choose the style and medium that will bring the idea to life. Considering every aspect, from colour choices to composition and paying close attention to detail, enables me to produce high-quality work and truly tailored to the specific needs of each project.”
‘Illusory Serenity’ explores how optical illusions impact human perception. Demonstrating how various illusions can be applied on fabrics to enhance or alter the appearance of the body. The series features abstract prints inspired by the movement of water and tropical scenery. By incoporating optical illusion techniques such as ‘Moire’ and ‘Half tone’, adds complexity to the designs.
