Chengrui Li is committed to exploring the fusion of new technology and design. His works are not only a pursuit of innovation, but also a reflection and expression of the contradictions and conflicts between sensory values and intrinsic values.
In Chengrui’s creations, modern technology is combined with traditional art to create unique visual experiences and emotional triggers through the use of new technology-assisted design. He combines origami with metal and adds bearings to his work, adding a sense of fun to the design. He believes that the development of technology not only provides us with a broader creative space, but also inspires his desire for innovation and experimentation.
In this project, both sensory value and intrinsic value are equally important. Chengrui will explore the issue of value itself, the concept of value, the realisation of the value of paper through origami techniques, and the exploration of value itself, extracting a large number of textures and shapes from the continuous study of paper models, and finally through the simulation of origami in metal, Chengrui hopes to inspire people to think about this issue: “What is the so-called value when the actual cost is contrasted with the actual cost of the simulated object?”
