This collection, PLAYSCAPES is an engaging and immersive print collection intended for young families living spaces. The functional designs aim to nurture children’s imagination and creativity through playful discovery, while also appealing to parent’s aesthetic preferences.
Inspired by whimsical landscapes, imagery captures ‘zoomed in’ natural elements to mimic an explorer looking through a magnifying glass, then pattern is collaged together in ‘zoomed out’ playful landscapes.
The concept was influenced by my dissertation on understanding how children interact and engage with storybook visuals, combined with the growing desire for more flexible, multifunctional living.
The youthful, fresh design aesthetic aims to excite the family unit and encourage meaningful interactions.
