Rocio Aguilar is a contemporary jewellery maker and designer, graduated in Jewellery and Objects from Birmingham City University in 2023.
Rocio has been a creative spirit since an early age. During her life she has worked in different disciplines and fields, such as graphic and UX design, performance art and poetry. Her extensive background helps to create unique pieces that feel very personal.
Rocio is inspired by her own feelings and how they can be related to external issues, including certain historical art periods or current social situations.
Rocio has worked with different materials like wool or cement, but always makes use of traditional jewellery techniques, with reticulating and oxidising silver being her most used techniques.
For her final year collection, “Divine Connections” Rocio has been inspired by her trip to Egypt in the summer of 2022. This collection focus on two Ancient Egyptian deities, the goddesses Hathor and Sekhmet.
