Guided by the relationship between nature and human beings, the work of Shuaipeng Chen can be found several natural elements such as plants and creatures. He thinks that the natural elements are an indispensable part of the historical process of mankind. He seeks to establish the interaction between nature and people who wear his jewellery.
To achieve this, Shuaipeng Chen always pays heed to the study of nature and travel to exposure to the natural environment as the material of primary research. In previous designs he has made more use of biological materials for the representation of natural elements. In this collection, however, ShuaiPeng Chen has increased his focus on intangible cultural heritage techniques and traditional craftsmanship.
This project Harmonio Symbiosis is a collection of works about the connection between plant features and human life, from the perspective of a nature observer. The busyness of modern life has gradually made people lose the opportunity to observe things around them. Shuaipeng Chen has selected four of the more common ornamental plants to show the relationship between plants and human life patterns, nighttime rest, mood changes and companionship, based on the principle of the biological clock. To enhance the experience and reflection of the audience, a number of interactive installations and ergonomic designs have been incorporated.
