I think of myself as a designer and conceiver of wearable sculpture, finding my inspiration often in the nature. Nature has perfected her forms about milliards of years; to imitate their creations is for me natural. I use everyday experiences as a language to generate visual representations of my structures, ideas, and philosophies. Driven away by these experiences, a major part of my design inspiration comes from the soul of India that lies in its culture, rich in the history of its arts and craft with a lot of diversity.
In this collection, I have captured the exquisiteness of handmade craftsmanship, and amalgamate it with the expanding digital technology to bring together contrasting worlds for the upcoming era of fashion and jewellery. The body of work analyses the use of material with dissimilar properties to recognise the possibilities through the demonstration of different techniques. It highlights potentials of converting a digitally produced flat surface into a complex three dimensional handmade structure to create a new form of art. Blending the Indian and the global cultures, the collection is a contribution towards a diverse glocal community.
