Currently, I am completing a Jewellery and Objects BA (Hons) at Birmingham City University, which has allowed me to delve deeper into my passion for jewelry design as a medium for exploring relationships between tradition and innovation as well as form and function. Jewelry has never merely been an adornment to me because it can serve as an expression of collective cultures alongside individual perspectives. Therefore, I am passionate about showcasing my heritage whilst also integrating modern ideas.
In particular, an area that has consistently drawn my attention has been exploring societal issues within my work, particularly in terms of vulnerable groups that are frequently overlooked or misrepresented in art. Alongside this, I am eager to not merely spread a message of environmental conservation in my final pieces but also prioritizing sustainable techniques during the creation process, whether that be using recycled waste or biodegradable materials. Ultimately, I enjoy depicting pressing problems through an aesthetically pleasing artefact to encourage audiences to think deeply about their own experiences and how they interact with the outside world.
My academic and extracurricular background has certainly allowed me to develop into a mature artist, having competed in numerous design competitions whilst also earning a grading certification from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, meaning that I can unite my sincere determination with sophisticated skills. In this way, I can produce pieces with the aim of stimulating change within today’s society by initially capturing the eyes of audiences through aesthetically pleasing images that soon facilitate a deeper reflection on monumental problems, ideally bestowing ideas which can improve their livelihoods and relationships.
