Xiaoyan Rong (Nora) earned her undergraduate degree in Jewellery and Objects from Birmingham City University in 2023, specialising in Metal Work and Jewellery Design. Her passion is researching different materials and combining them with a variety of techniques. Additionally, Xiaoyan’s work is often based on theoretical research, translating textual analysis into 3D works through research. Through the use of mixed materials and various techniques, Xiaoyan creates jewellery and wearable objects inspired by social phenomena or self-analysis. Viewers are encouraged to engage with her work. Through wearing and interacting with Xiaoyan’s work, she expects the audience to consider the issues it reflects on and develop new perspectives on them.
